Board schedules hearings on Johnson Place parking, EV charger zoning and Altice franchise

The board also scheduled a Dec. 8, 2025 hearing for PLLX 2025, zoning amendments to regulate electric vehicle charging stations. S6 explained that Level 1 chargers (residential) are treated differently from Level 2/3 commercial stations; commercial installations would generally require site‑plan review and planning‑board approval. Trustees requested staff confirm the draft language that addresses whether converting required commercial parking spaces to EV charging counts against a business’s required parking supply.
Finally, trustees scheduled a Nov. 24 public hearing on a renewal cable franchise agreement with Altice (Cablevision). S6 said the proposed agreement is substantially similar to the prior contract, noted PEG funding at roughly $0.65 per subscription in prior arrangements, and that Altice is prepared to move forward while Verizon has been slow to respond.
All three hearings were scheduled by motion and voice vote.
