Board to consider IMAs with county for firing-range training and a $50,000 DWI-enforcement grant

Trustees reviewed two intermunicipal agreements: (1) a firing-range use agreement at $630 per 8‑hour session (plus $646.32 if an instructor is needed) and (2) acceptance of a $50,000 New York State DWI Foundation grant for high-visibility enforcement through Sept. 2026. Both items will be on the legislative agenda.
Steve described two proposed intermunicipal agreements with Westchester County’s Department of Public Safety Services. The first would permit village police to use the county firing range for training at a rate of $630 per eight-hour session; if the county provides an instructor the added charge would be $646.32 per session.
The second IMA is the acceptance of a $50,000 grant from the New York State DWI Foundation to fund high-visibility enforcement details (saturation patrols, sobriety checkpoints and drug-recognition expert call-outs) over a one-year period from October through September 2026.
Trustees indicated both items will be included on the legislative agenda for formal approval.
Next steps: the IMAs and grant acceptance will be listed on the legislative meeting agenda for trustee action; staff will post the agreements and schedule implementation if approved.
