Wellington honors outgoing council members, accepts certified March 10 election results

Council read proclamations recognizing Vice Mayor Tanya Siskin and Councilman John T. McGovern for their service. Former councilmember Michael Dreyhouse, family members and fellow council members praised both officials for leadership and long service; Michelle McGovern said the office had been a family journey and presented a video message from a daughter who could not attend. Council presented plaques and took photos.
Mayor and staff reiterated the council’s accomplishments during their tenures and thanked them for community service, citing parks, infrastructure projects, school support and emergency responses the council oversaw.
On election business, staff presented a certified copy of the March 10, 2026 municipal election results as provided by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections and stated that Councilmember‑elect Johnny Meyer (seat 2) and Councilmember‑elect Steven Levin (seat 3) were the certified winners; council also noted passage of two referendum questions related to the canvassing board and qualifying period. During public comment resident Bruce Toomin criticized turnout and raised broader complaints about recent council decisions.
The meeting closed with council remarks, a recognition of Captain Adazio for a community award, and adjournment.
