Staff said the utility department will replace a compact telehandler (an all‑terrain, telescoping forklift). When a councilmember asked whether the unit is a replacement, staff and another speaker confirmed it is a replacement acquisition.
Council was also briefed on an intent to award contracts to replace roofs at four village pump stations following a roof assessment and competitive bids. A question about near‑identical bids prompted staff to explain differences in prior working relationships and clarified that one bidder’s price was actually slightly lower.
Staff requested authorization to renew existing contracts with multiple vendors for landscape maintenance across facilities, parks, utility sites, primary and secondary roads and specialty areas; an amendment would add a new aquatic center location to an existing contract. A councilmember asked whether contractor pricing rose substantially; the reply noted a 52.7% increase for the contractors being renewed.
Several other routine items were discussed briefly (annual cedar‑turf delivery and a master‑plan update) and staff recommended adding Project Tango to the public meeting agenda for further discussion the following evening. These consent items will be on the council’s public agenda for formal action.
