ARB approves Life Church renovations; board and applicant to coordinate final palette

Planner Jonathan Sandoval outlined the proposal for the existing church parcel near the K Park project at 3061 South State Road 7. Applicant representatives and the architect described proposed colors (a mix of light grays with darker accent tones), material options and site improvements. The project team said the darker tones would be primarily accent colors and that the building is set back and screened by landscaping in many viewpoints.
Board members discussed the visual relationship between the church renovations and the adjacent K Park hotel / retail development, and some suggested aligning material decisions once the K Park hotel design is refined. The applicant said construction is scheduled to begin this year and preferred not to delay work but welcomed continued coordination.
The board moved to approve the application based on staff recommendations; the motion passed unanimously. The approval includes conditions of approval and standard ARB follow‑up at permitting and any future design changes.
