Eagle Grove City Council approves multiple resolutions, tables commission appointments
Summary
On Jan. 5 the council approved a series of resolutions—appointments, street project, a 28E law enforcement agreement, nuisance assessments, downtown revitalization liens and a rehabilitation satisfaction—and tabled one resolution on commission appointments; consent agenda (including claims) was also approved.
The Eagle Grove City Council on Jan. 5 approved multiple resolutions and administrative items during a meeting at the Public Safety Building.
The council approved Resolution 2026-01 (mayoral and city administrator appointments), Resolution 2026-02 (2026 Street Improvement Project), Resolution 2026-03 (authorizing a 28E agreement for law enforcement services), Resolution 2026-04 (levying assessments for nuisance abatement), Resolution 2026-05 (levying liens for downtown revitalization), and Resolution 2026-06 (satisfying a rehabilitation agreement for 724 NW 3rd). The council also authorized contracting ACM Inspection Services for 615 N. Montgomery and assessing the cost to the property. Motion authors and seconders were recorded in each case and each of these items passed on a roll call vote recorded as all ayes.
The council tabled Resolution 2026-07, which would have authorized commission appointments for 2026 (motion by Axtell, second by Weland). The consent agenda — which included the Dec. 15, 2025 minutes and a detailed claims list with vendor payments and payroll transfers — was approved earlier in the meeting by motion of Council Member Axtell, seconded by Council Member Pamperin. Fund totals reported in the claims included General: $132,626.28; Road Use Tax: $49,059.16; Employee Benefits: $42,315.56; Garbage: $16,484.35; Water: $54,712.44; Sewer: $49,064.56.
Department reports were given; the council did not take action to enter a closed session under agenda item 13 and no action was taken in open session related to that subject. Sandy McGrath asked whether the council would address a previously noted action item; the council proposed addressing it at the Jan. 19, 2026 meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
