Beaver Dam board adopts updated strategic plan after wide stakeholder input

The Beaver Dam Unified School District Board of Education voted to adopt an updated strategic plan intended to guide district priorities across academics, operations and facilities, safe and healthy schools, and engagement. Board members said the plan reflects extensive staff and community feedback from workshops and public engagement sessions.

Administrators summarized work from a May 18 workshop that refined key performance indicators and priorities. “Board of education administration team spent focused time reviewing the most updated version of our strategic plan,” an administrator said, describing the draft as the result of stakeholder input and careful KPI review.

Board members praised the process and the final document. One board member who participated in staff and community sessions said the format and broader engagement yielded meaningful feedback and that the staff’s work to synthesize input was “really well done.” Another member said the revised plan will produce measures that are meaningful to the district and its schools.

The motion to adopt the updated strategic plan was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. Administration said the finalized plan will be posted on the district website this week and that staff will begin aligning initiatives and reporting progress to the board in upcoming updates.

The action follows the district’s recent workshop series and is intended to provide a common framework for school success plans scheduled for presentations at the annual August workshop.
