Miss Morgan, the board treasurer, presented the financial package and asked the board to approve the final adoption of the budget. "I'd like to ask the board to approve the final adoption of the 2026-27 general fund budget in the amount of $117,688,482 with a real estate tax rate of 17.7816 mills," Morgan said. The motion was seconded and approved by a unanimous roll-call vote recorded by the clerk.
Morgan also summarized the treasurer's materials for May: paid general fund checks #73393—73574 totaling $1,389,851.51, electronic payments of $6,655,352.55, payable invoices checks #73575—73600 totaling $481,468.17, capital reserve fund invoices totaling $151,107.92, and a 2024 construction fund invoice for $12,471.60.
Board members recorded unanimous approval on a package of accompanying finance items: five general fund balance commitments; adoption of the Homestead and Farmstead exclusion resolution establishing 2026—27 exclusion amounts; renewals for Delta Dental and the district's property/liability and student accident insurance; and a 50% borough cost-share arrangement for contracted crossing-guard services. The board also authorized officers to approve payment of July invoices.
The board's action completes routine budget and financial approvals ahead of the new fiscal year. No votes opposing the measures were recorded on the meeting transcript; the clerk announced the roll call as unanimous for each item.
What happens next: the budget and associated financial authorizations take effect for the 2026—27 fiscal year and staff will implement the adopted spending plan and tax rate as approved by the board.
