On regulatory work, Rankin said the commission had spent substantial time researching invasive bamboo and drafting a local ordinance to address it and proposed a formal review by the administration. She also raised concern that the commission had been removed from a municipal office and asked for consistent appointment and posting procedures so the commission can operate administratively.
The mayor and council liaisons responded: the mayor acknowledged the bamboo ordinance delay due to retirements and seasonal scheduling and said a consultant has been hired to work on the township's community forest management plan; a liaison thanked the commission for its work and diligence.
