At its June 2 meeting the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved county claims and drainage claims by motion and second; the transcript shows a grand total of $490,628.03 in the claims listing read into the record. The claims motion passed unanimously by roll call.
The board acknowledged the county budget status report; the transcript records acknowledgement only, with no further action taken at that time. The board also discussed scheduling interviews for the county IT position and set interviews for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m.
Bridget Galligan of PMAC presented options to change county auto and property insurance deductibles through ICAP. After review the board decided not to change deductibles because the higher deductibles did not generate significant rate savings.
Other routine administrative notes in the transcript include a statement that there was no construction in the county right-of-way, a discussion with the county engineer and the county auditor, and a record of attendance changes (Supervisor Josh Waechter joined after initial roll call). The meeting adjourned at 11:16 a.m.
The transcript does not include invoice-level detail beyond the vendor line items read into the record nor does it provide the underlying actuarial or rate comparison tables for the insurance deductible analysis; the Auditor’s office and PMAC were the responsible parties for follow-up and implementation as appropriate.
