Weiser Ambulance District approves payroll and expenses, plans November levy and steering committee

The Weiser Ambulance District, meeting as part of the Washington County Commissioners session on June 1, approved payroll and general expense orders and began planning for a prospective November levy.
District Director Alan Foster presented Order No. 26‑33 (payroll expenses, $23,679.37) and Order No. 26‑34 (general expenses, $7,987.18); Commissioners Jim Harberd and Gordon Wilkerson voted to approve both orders. Foster also reported an ambulance repair bill from Speed O Motive for $4,109.46.
Foster discussed the May 19 levy election results and said he plans to work with consultant Erin Greaves and bring a levy measure to the ballot in November 2026. He told the Board GEMT (Ground Emergency Medical Transportation) funding from 2023 should total about $50,000 and, when remitted, “should get the district through January.”
Foster and staff requested a steering committee to assist with levy planning and outreach; Foster said he would compile a list of recommended participants. The Board and district staff discussed budgeting processes and next steps for public engagement; no formal levy resolution was adopted at the meeting.
Next steps: Foster will meet with Consultant Erin Greaves and will draft steering‑committee membership and a plan for presenting a levy in November.
