City staff said they are drafting amendments to several zoning-code definitions — including definitions for modular homes, tiny homes, tiny-home communities, tiny homes on wheels and a definition for truck stops — and recommended a July 17 informational meeting featuring James Walden of Garver and the municipal league.
A staff member told the committee the meeting will allow council and staff to review sample definitions before returning the amendments as an ordinance at the next meeting cycle. "We're having this informational meeting with James Walden on new housing types," staff said, asking members to review the draft definitions and return with comments for the July ordinance.
The committee did not take a final vote on the code changes at this session; staff proposed the July meeting to provide examples and guidance to refine the draft language.
