Richland County approves four easements for Lex Spring Mill shoulder project and sells obsolete county vehicle

The Richland County Board of Commissioners approved acceptance of four parcels as right-of-way easements for the Lex Spring Mill shoulder project and authorized the sale of an obsolete county vehicle at its June 9 meeting.
Commissioners said the four easements are relatively simple acquisitions — some are gifts and others have nominal cost — and moved to accept all four parcels to support the roadway shoulder project. The motion passed with affirmative votes from the commissioners present.
Separately, the board authorized the sale of a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo assigned to adult court services as surplus property. The sale was approved by motion and recorded votes.
On a separate agenda item, commissioners pulled an amendment to an agreement with Tyler Technologies that would remove the City of Ontario from that vendor agreement. Commissioners said there were unanswered questions about whether the change would create additional costs or savings and that the sheriff's office had not yet weighed in; the board agreed to hold the amendment until those cost questions and sheriff input are resolved.
The meeting included routine approvals such as requisitions and certification of the June 4 minutes.
