On facilities and assets, Armstrong announced the Willow Pond 20‑acre property will be advertised with a $475,000 starting price and sold via electronic online bidding. "Bids open on July 14th. They'll close on July 21st at 6:00 p.m., but from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. we'll have a station here at Central Services for if somebody doesn't have that kind of access," he said, noting on‑site assistance will be available and the auction process may extend past 6 p.m. if last‑minute bids trigger time extensions.
On technology funding, Armstrong said e-rate support will cover equipment replacements (servers, access points) and estimated "about $860,000 worth of replacements". Later in the discussion a board member referenced $825,000; Armstrong said the district would have to fill roughly $260,000 and had budgeted $325,000, noting some items are 100% local expense and not eligible for e-rate.
Board members asked follow‑up questions about timelines for turf installation at Tecumseh High softball field, the new dump truck procurement and potential in‑house maintenance and asphalt patching, and whether older equipment could be refurbished for training uses. Armstrong described contingency plans and training ideas to reduce contracted costs.
Next steps: the Willow Pond auction will proceed with online bidding July 14–21 and district staff will return with procurement details and final project schedules as they firm up vendor ship dates and funding gaps.
