Lake Bluff preview: 33rd annual Farmers Market opens June 5 with expanded vendors and summer programming

At the May 27 meeting, administrative intern Greer Palmer presented the Village of Lake Bluff's plan for the 2026 Farmers Market season, which opens Friday, June 5 and runs Fridays through Oct. 9 from 7 a.m. to noon on the village green.
Palmer said the market was established in 1993 and supports downtown economic vitality. The 2026 season will include 36 vendors—four of them new—offering produce, baked goods, flowers and specialty products. New vendors include Arrow Prairie Leaf Farms (produce, flowers, microgreens), a returning Alaskan fish vendor (frozen/fresh and smoked fish products), Griffin's bottled cocktail mixes for off‑premise consumption, and Sunberry Orchard Inc., an organic family farm specializing in apples and seasonal bakery items.
Sponsorship from Lake Forest Bank & Trust will support marketing; the market committee commissioned artwork for posters and reusable bags (800 bags ordered) by local artists Elizabeth Fron with design assistance from Philip Roth. Palmer said entertainment will rotate and include a balloon artist (RC Juggles, scheduled June 12–July 31), story times by the Lake Bluff History Museum and the Lake Bluff Library, master gardener demonstrations, and a cornrows event planned for Aug. 14 with fire department assistance.
Palmer and staff thanked the market committee, artists, market manager Kate Cole, vendors, and customers for supporting the market's 33rd season.
