Planning commission appoints three-member subcommittee to finalize comprehensive plan

The Lago Vista Planning and Zoning Commission voted March 12 to establish a three-member subcommittee to finalize a draft comprehensive plan and future land use map for presentation at the April meeting.
Chair Linda Aird nominated Ann Cleeter, Jean Harris and herself to serve on the subcommittee; the nomination was seconded and approved unanimously. The subcommittee will take the Development Services draft and revise or accept it as appropriate for presentation to the full commission.
Commissioners clarified scope and cadence: parks and recreation content will be handled by Parks staff and a separate Parks subcommittee, while the proposed P&Z subcommittee will focus on chapters 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 and put additional data and case studies in chapter 7 as referenced. Commissioner Jeff Hooley urged the subcommittee to establish a minimum meeting cadence to avoid delays; Aird and others said the discussion board and virtual participation can be used to keep momentum.
The subcommittee was charged with producing a completed comp plan and future land use map for the commission's April meeting so the full commission could consider forwarding recommendations to the City Council.
