Lago Vista council unanimously backs Lomond Ford corridor study

Victor, a city staff member, told council the resolution does not commit the city to any construction, design work or funding and that it simply makes Lago Vista eligible for study and future consideration. “We’re not committing to any construction design or anything of that nature. No funds are being committed,” he said.
Council Member (speaker 6) moved to approve the resolution and the motion was seconded. After brief discussion, the mayor called the question and the council approved the measure unanimously.
The study would evaluate potential improvements along the Lomond/Lohman Ford corridor and position the city and county for future grant or capital funding opportunities through CAMPO. Staff said if the study proceeds, the city will have opportunities to provide input on scope and local priorities.
The council did not authorize any immediate project spending; the resolution is an eligibility and coordination step. The mayor said staff will provide more detail on the study and its implications if and when grant opportunities advance.
