Lincoln Park council adopts FY appropriations, approves GLWA contract amendment and accepts county parks funding

Lincoln Park’s City Council on June 8 approved the city’s appropriations resolution for the upcoming fiscal year and took several related fiscal and service-authority actions.
City staff presented the recommended budget, noting it was presented to council on May 11 and the public hearing occurred May 26. The staff report said there is no estimated use of general-fund balance for the coming year and that estimated millage rates were included; any adjustments after final millage certification would be handled at mid-year.
By roll call, council adopted the appropriations resolution as presented. Staff emphasized the budget keeps current water and sewer rates in place pending a final rate decision and reflects a proposed rubbish/recycling fee discussed earlier.
Council also authorized an amendment to the service contract with the Great Lakes Water Authority to update projected purchase volumes; staff and the city’s engineering representative recommended approval, saying adjusted volume projections will positively affect future revenue requirements.
Separately, council approved a funding agreement with Wayne County Parks to receive $26,791 from the Parks Mill Fund to support improvements at Council Point Park, contingent on county approvals; the mayor and city clerk were authorized to execute the necessary documents.
All three items passed by roll call vote at the meeting.
