The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Jakubowski reading the legal notice required under Title 10 of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated and listing attendees. Commissioners voted to approve the Jan. 3 meeting minutes. The body then approved Resolution 2023‑26 (RFQ for municipal public defender), Resolution 2023‑27 (payment of bills for January 2023), and Resolution 2023‑28 (application for the Audubon Family Park grant). The motions were made and seconded by commissioners and carried by unanimous vote, according to the record.
Commissioner Lee briefed the panel on an upcoming water‑company project scheduled to begin Feb. 4 that will run from Nicholson Road to Washington Terrace on Wyoming Avenue; work in the business district has been postponed while safety concerns are resolved. He also thanked the Public Works Department for extra efforts after the holidays.
Commissioner Whitman noted the state extended the Anchor Program filing deadline from Dec. 31, 2022, to Feb. 28, 2023 and reported that all bills were paid on time. Mayor Jakubowski said the borough will form a public art committee and has been consulting the New Jersey Council of the Arts, and announced the Summer Movie series—sponsored by William Penn Bank and coordinated by Audubon Civic REACH—will run four Thursdays in July. He also said Audubon Day is scheduled for April 29 and volunteer help is needed for planning.
With no public comments, the commissioners closed the public portion and adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
