Tuscarawas County commissioners approve transfers, appropriations, WWTP change order and mortgage release

At their June 1 meeting, the Board of Commissioners approved a $100,000 inter‑fund transfer, supplemental appropriations to the Board of DD (including a $5,000 microgrant), an out‑of‑county travel request, Change Order #3 for the Wilkshire Hills WWTP and a Satisfaction & Release of Mortgage for the Gamble property under the FY2002 CHIP Program; all recorded motions carried unanimously.
The Tuscarawas County Board of Commissioners met June 1 and approved a series of routine fiscal and administrative measures, voting unanimously on each recorded motion.
Among the actions the board approved were 'then & now' expenditures (including $70 to APCO International and $4,374.96 to Kinsey Excavating & Trucking), supplemental appropriations for the Board of Developmental Disabilities totaling $7,691 (including a $5,000 microgrant from Wood County), and an inter‑fund transfer of $100,000 from Children Services to Public Assistance.
The board also approved an out‑of‑county travel request for James Shively of the Planning Department to attend an Environmental Design Group strategic planning seminar in Athens, Ohio, at a reimbursement of $168.78. Commissioners commented that Shively’s attendance supports his work toward a Strategic Plan.
On infrastructure, the board approved Change Order #3 for the Wilkshire Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade (Phase 2), adding $5,562.50 and bringing the total (including previous change orders) to $3,069,368.54, as requested by Engineering Associates.
The Board authorized the president or vice‑president to sign a Satisfaction & Release of Mortgage for Paul and Stephanie Gamble related to the FY2002 CHIP Program, releasing a remaining mortgage balance of $5,238.75 based on the recommendation of Scott S. Reynolds, Director of the Office of Community & Economic Development. The Board also approved payment of the presented bills.
All motions recorded in the meeting minutes carried with votes recorded in the minutes as Commissioners Kristin Zemis, Greg Ress and Mitch Pace voting yes.
