JIRN to award 10–15 mini‑grants up to $50,000 to support state DCRA reporting

Doug Spence, research fellow at the Justice Information Resource Network (JIRN), described a mini‑grant program to support state efforts to improve DCRA reporting.
Spence said JIRN anticipates making between 10 and 15 awards, each up to $50,000, to fund activities such as purchasing data collection tools, supporting trainings and dissemination, developing websites to share DCRA results, or hiring consultants or temporary support staff. He said applicants may request funding across multiple eligible categories.
Key administrative dates and eligibility: the application deadline is Jan. 31, 2025; the project period will run from March through December 2025; eligible applicants include state administering agencies (SAAs) for DCRA and statistical analysis centers that have a partnership agreement with an SAA. Applicants should submit an online application form that includes a project budget; JIRN provided an application template and contact emails (DougSpence@jirn.org and DCRA@jirn.org) for questions.
JIRN and BJA presenters encouraged states to consider these grants for "low‑hanging fruit" improvements to their data systems and pointed attendees to the posted slides and the DCRA TTA center for more information.
