Island County approves Brentwood Homeowners Association sewer-franchise transfer on Camano Island

The Island County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved April 28 a sewer-franchise transfer for the Brentwood Homeowners Association (PW20240224) on northern Camano Island.
Public Works presenter Ed Cashner described the franchise as covering three PRDs and a private collection system serving about 80 parcels that tie to a single off-site reserve drain field roughly a quarter mile from the system. Cashner said the system includes a three-inch distribution line running along the county road and that the franchise had been sold to the homeowners association in 2009.
A commissioner asked for and received confirmation that all 80 connections are served to a single reserve drain field. The board opened public comment for the hearing, received none, and approved the transfer by motion and second. The motion was recorded as passing unanimously.
