Shawnee approves engineering for Shawnee Mission Parkway and awards Mac and Nanny Drive contract

Zach Donahue, communications director for the city of Shawnee, said the council unanimously approved engineering services for the 2027 mill and overlay of Shawnee Mission Parkway from Quivira to the Shawnee East city limits and approved a contract with Infrastructure Solutions LLC for the Mac and Nanny Drive street improvement project.
Donahue reported the approvals were unanimous (recorded as eight-to-zero votes for the Mac and Nanny Drive contract and unanimous for the Parkway engineering services). City staff told the council the public works department plans two street projects next year, funded through the pavement sales tax, driving an increase in the department’s draft 2027 budget.
