Quincy police chief presents 2025 report, cites increases in DUI arrests and assaults with weapons

Well, that looks bad, but it's actually a good thing. You know, we raised it from 22 to 67," he said. He also said assaults with weapons rose from 8 to 30.
The chief described expanded traffic enforcement efforts in response to community complaints about speeding and highlighted community outreach and community-policing events. He noted the department's participation in the regional information-sharing network (RIS) and displayed recognition for the department's membership in that system.
Council members thanked the department and acknowledged the need to address traffic complaints as seasonal activity increases. The council did not take formal action on the report; Chief Green said the materials were provided primarily for transparency and discussion of strategic priorities for 2026.
