Lincoln Public Schools board approves substitute pay increases, employee agreements and nutrition procurement award

At its June 9 meeting the Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education approved multiple personnel and procurement items, including proposed increases to substitute pay rates, tentative agreements with maintenance employees and office professionals, proposed multi-year agreements with Nutrition Services Workers and Lincoln Paraeducators Association for 2026–27 and 2027–28, and an award for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables contract number 11341.

Dr. Price presented the proposed substitute and miscellaneous employee pay rates for 2025–26 and the recommended increases for 2026–27, noting that “there was an increase in almost every case” and that supervisors for those groups helped determine the rates. Dr. Price also reported tentative two-year agreements with maintenance employees and office professionals and described the proposed Nutrition Services Workers and Paraeducators agreements as being in line with other employee groups.

The procurement motion for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (item 10.2.1) was moved by Mara and seconded by John and carried on a unanimous roll call (Miss Byer, Mr. Goodwin, Dr. Johnson F, Mrs. Calavic, Miss Mumgard and Mr. Shvastav). The motion to approve the proposed settlements with Nutrition Services Workers and Paraeducators (item 10.2.2) was similarly approved by roll call. Several of these items were presented as recommended for second reading or approval and will be reflected in forthcoming contract documents.

The board recorded no expedited emergency actions and no public comment speakers for the meeting.
