Selectmen approve Rimmon Schoolhouse Committee logo, schedule meeting with contractor

Gerard Smith opened discussion on a memo from Josepha McGeever Brusznicki, chairperson of the Museum and Rimmon Schoolhouse Committee, asking the selectmen to approve the committee’s proposed logo. Selectman Michael Krenesky moved to approve the logo; Selectman Peter Betkoski seconded and the motion passed 'All ayes.'
The committee’s memo (Exhibit A) asked the selectmen to provide a letter of introduction to DiGiorgi Roofing and Siding Company establishing the committee as the point of contact for the rehabilitation project and naming Josepha McGeever Brusznicki as direct contact. The board asked the clerk to set up a meeting including DiGiorgi, committee representatives (including Leah Rajvong as a staff contact copied on correspondence), and selectmen to discuss contractor concerns and to share relevant communications the committee had not received previously.
Committee members also reported plans for the town’s 250th anniversary events; the Rimmon Schoolhouse Committee intends to field a float in the Fireman’s Carnival Parade and is seeking a local youth to portray George Washington. No contract award or construction decision was made at this meeting; discussions and coordination with the contractor were described as next steps.
