County Administrator Karen L. Sowell told commissioners the Department of Revenue had submitted the counteroffer; the department is currently paying $13.50 per square foot. Commissioner Lynne Holmes moved to approve the proposal and Commissioner Tommy McGaha seconded; the motion passed unanimously. According to the administrator, the tenant’s current lease term ends in September 2026, which frames moving and negotiation timelines.
The commission did not provide additional lease terms or the square footage involved during the meeting; staff will proceed with the next steps of the lease process as approved.
