At its policy and governance meeting, the Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners voted to keep the annual lease with OSU acting for and on behalf of the Oklahoma County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service at the historical amount of $10.
County staff described the lease as an annual, longstanding arrangement and said the county’s legal reviewer flagged the nominal rent as low but confirmed the statute permits the county to provide office space for the extension. County staff member Jessica said the county needed to “reflect in the financial support for the extension office, you know, what the value is.”
A committee member moved to approve keeping the lease at the current amount; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote. Board members said “I” in approval; no votes against or abstentions were recorded on the transcript.
Ladonna, who attended for the Extension, was thanked by the board after the vote. No changes to the lease amount or additional directives for staff were recorded in the meeting minutes discussed at the session.
The board moved on to other agenda items without scheduling further action on the lease.
