The Manchester Committee of the Coffee County Library Board on June 9 received an update that remediation work at the Manchester Public Library is nearly complete and the building could reopen after a follow-up inspection.
Rick, who is overseeing the remediation work, told the committee the remediations "should be finished hopefully by the end of this week," after which another inspection is planned and the library will receive an all‑clear before staff and the public return. The committee noted staff will be allowed a few administrative days in the building before public operations resume, and the library will announce openings on Facebook and its website.
Committee members also discussed technology preparations. Randy was authorized to enter the building on Thursday to update computers; the minutes state the mayor approved Randy entering the building before the inspection.
The director’s report included no new financial information. The committee did not set a firm public reopening date; next steps are completion of remediation, the follow-up inspection, and the issuance of the all‑clear.
