Morristown council adopts consent agenda, introduces two capital ordinances for June 23 public hearing

The Morristown Town Council voted unanimously to adopt its consent agenda and a package of 14 resolutions at a regular meeting on June 9, and introduced two ordinances to be considered at public hearings on June 23.

Council President called for adoption of the consent agenda, and following a motion and second the council took a roll call vote. The motion carried with recorded “yes” votes from Councilman Cones, Councilwoman Lindsay, Councilman Umbriak, Councilman Russo and the Council President.

Later in the meeting the council introduced two capital ordinances by title. Ordinance 0-16-2026 was introduced to appropriate $565,000 from the capital improvement fund “to provide for various improvements to the wastewater treatment facility and conveyance system” in Morristown and Morris County. Ordinance 0-17-2026 is a bond ordinance described in title as appropriating $2,967,000 and authorizing the issuance of $2,817,000 in bonds or notes to finance a portion of those capital improvements. Motions to introduce both ordinances passed on roll call and both were scheduled for public hearing and further consideration on June 23, 2026.

The council then moved to adopt a block of 14 resolutions (moved as R-104 through R-17-2026 in the motion) and recorded a unanimous roll-call adoption from members present. With no unfinished business and no items under new business, the council approved a motion to adjourn.
