Emmet County Board to cover FY2026 Eagle View cost share, sets $40 meal per diem and seeks landscaping bids

At the May 26 meeting, Emmet County Assessor LuWanda Towell told supervisors the FY2026 Eagle View imagery payment being processed June 9 will include E911 paying its portion for the last time and the county board will cover the remaining county share. Towell said the planned Eagle View flight for FY2029 could be canceled with the approval of the Emmet County Conference Board, and she said she will reach out to the City of Estherville to discuss future cost sharing. The supervisors agreed to revisit the future flight at an upcoming meeting before the end of June.
Auditor Heidi Goebel announced there will be no Board of Supervisors meeting on June 2 because of the primary election and reminded the public that Saturday voting will be available May 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Administration Building, 101 N. 6th Street, Estherville.
On a motion by Supervisor Todd Glasnapp, seconded by Supervisor Jeff Quastad, the board set a maximum travel meal reimbursement per diem of $40, substantiated by receipts. The motion passed unanimously.
The board also discussed landscaping plans for the courthouse addition and reached a consensus to solicit bids for the final landscaping work; blueprints require the contractor to place six inches of dirt and seed any disturbed lawn areas.
