The board announced the hire of Pam Jensen as a part-time E911 dispatcher/corrections officer, effective June 1, and promoted Shane Thramer from part-time to full-time sheriff deputy, effective June 5.
The board also approved a JET (job-entry training) reimbursement contract for Pam Jensen that will reimburse the county for up to 75% of her wages for up to 310 working hours; staff estimated this arrangement will save the county approximately $6,000. The motion to approve the contract passed 4-0.
The board handled the items as routine business and did not attach conditions beyond the standard contract terms; commissioners indicated support for the hires and the training reimbursement as a cost-saving measure.
