Edward Dunn, a representative of the West Central Nebraska Development District, presented the McPherson County Planning Commission with a rough draft of updated zoning regulations at a May 28 meeting in Tryon.
Dunn said WCNDD is acting as consultant to McPherson County on the project and that each commission member has been provided the rough draft to compare with current county regulations. He told the commission that WCNDD will update the draft to include more detailed regulatory language and that staff and commissioners should continue reviewing the draft and note areas for revision.
The commission discussed the process and scheduling for completing the revisions with Dunn. Commissioners and staff did not adopt any regulations at the meeting; the next procedural step is continued draft review and follow-up at a future meeting. The commission set its next meeting for June 25, when members are expected to continue reviewing the draft.
The presentation was given during the regular Planning Commission meeting called to order by Chairman Mike Krull. Zoning Administrator Kathy Hoberg was present and supported coordination between WCNDD and county staff on next steps.
