Williston board approves beer-and-wine license for 202 Brix; North Flats transfer is tabled

The Board of City Commissioners approved a beer-and-wine on-sale license for 202 Brix at 202 1st Ave E Suite 2 during a public hearing on April 14, 2026.
President Klug summarized the application and said the Liquor Licensing Committee had reviewed and approved the request, noting the change would align the location with the state’s one-license-per-location rule. Klug opened the public hearing three times and, hearing no comments, the council approved the license on a motion by Commissioner Bervig, seconded by Commissioner Gjovig; the vote was 5–0.
On a separate license matter, North Flats Brewery sought to move its off-sale license and eventual on-sale privileges to a renovated space at 313 Main St Suite 101-B. The council and City Attorney Taylor Olson discussed whether the city may grant the transfer before the space passes inspections. Olson advised waiting for inspections; the council moved to table the transfer until the space is complete and inspections are done.
