Madison Parish jurors approved multiple maintenance and contracting actions at their May 11 meeting, including a vegetation control contract with Weed Pro and acceptance of a $48,000 quote to repair Lee Street.
The jury approved Weed Pro’s proposal to spray approximately 3 miles of the bayou (both sides) from the dam to the barbed wire fence for $4,000 and to treat a minimum of 100 miles of roadside right of way at $75 per mile per application (a total of $7,500). The motion to approve the Weed Pro quote was offered by Dave Wilson and seconded by Jerry Hicks; the motion carried.
Jurors also accepted Dreher’s $48,000 quote to repair Lee Street after discussion; the motion was offered by Dave Wilson and seconded by Jerry Hicks and carried. The jury discussed acquiring an asphalt zipper for road work and directed the secretary to check on available funding for that equipment.
These items were presented as part of routine infrastructure maintenance and contracting decisions; motions passed by the jury authorize staff to proceed with the contracted work and to research potential equipment funding.
