The Fremont City Council approved its consent agenda on June 9, covering routine claims, minutes, reports, licenses, appointments, special events, and several contract authorizations.
Highlights from the consent motion include: consent to Mayor’s appointment of Ashley Fowler to the Local Option Review Team for a term ending June 2027; recommendations to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission to approve a Class K secondary liquor license endorsement for Lakeshore Marina at 1440 W Military Ave (Resolution 2026-135) and a Class I change of location for Savage Restaurant Group LLC dba Side Piece Sushi at 343 N Main St (Resolution 2026-136); authorization of special events including a community fireworks display at Fremont Municipal Airport on July 3 (Resolution 2026-134) and John C Fremont Days street closures and a full fee waiver from July 9–12 (Resolution 2026-138).
The motion to approve the consent agenda (items 6–12 and 14–19) was made by Councilmember Vaughan and seconded by Ganem and carried 8-0. The consent package also authorized a consultant agreement with HHTCS for CentralSquare services up to 50 hours at $130 per hour, a contract amendment with Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. for $67,000 for the North Downtown Streetscape Revitalization project, and a pavement rehab contract with J&R Concrete and Construction LLC for $355,735.25.
