After discussion about alternative locations (a dotted‑line option about 100 feet from the crosswalk was repeatedly cited) and estimated costs — staff noted the installation alone could be about $40,000 — the council approved a motion to place the table as close to the crosswalk as feasible and to add approximately $10,000 to address drainage/ADA needs. The motion passed on roll call with the council voting in the affirmative.
