Kittitas County commissioners approved a resolution adopting amendments to the Public Lands Advisory Committee (PLAC) bylaws during a Monday meeting, officials said.
The change clarifies appointment terms, attendance requirements and the chair’s role in voting, county staff told the board. A staff presenter said the committee itself recommended the amendments and voted unanimously to approve them prior to the board action.
The presenter noted the committee was created by resolution 2013-134 (11/18/2013) and that the current bylaws were adopted by resolution 2015-086 (05/19/2015). The presenter said the proposed amendments aim to provide clearer language around how members are appointed, expectations for attendance, and when the chair may participate in votes.
Following the presentation, the board discussed the matter briefly. The chair called for a motion; a motion and second were recorded, and the board approved the resolution by voice vote. The transcript does not include a roll-call tally; staff described the committee’s endorsement as unanimous.
The action formally updates PLAC governance language; staff did not provide an implementation timetable in the public discussion. Bradley Celski, introduced by staff as someone who has worked with the plat committee on trails and recreation matters, was noted as being incorporated into study sessions going forward.
The board moved on to a separate agenda item after approving the bylaws changes.
