Adair County supervisors approve FY26 budget amendment, TIF transfer and appropriations increases

The Adair County Board of Supervisors on May 20 approved a FY2026 budget amendment and related appropriations increases, and authorized a $90,672.01 transfer from the NW Wind Farm UR Debt Service Fund (0032) into the county General Fund (0001).
Resolution #2026-34, adopting the FY26 budget amendment, and Resolution #2026-35, implementing appropriations increases tied to that amendment, were both approved by roll call with supervisors Walker, Baier, Christoffersen, Hoadley and Wedemeyer recorded as voting aye.
The appropriations resolution raised several departmental budgets. Noted adjustments included the Sheriff’s office increasing by $29,650 to a total of $2,620,870; Veterans’ Affairs increasing by $13,477 to $94,773; REAP funding set to $10,000; Conservation Land Acquisition increased by $5,000 to $56,500; Medical Examiner funding increased by $15,000 to $50,000; and a $450 increase to Non-Departmental, bringing it to $5,250,051.
Separately, Resolution #2026-33 approved a transfer of $90,672.01 from the NW Wind Farm UR Debt Service Fund to the General Fund to cover certified TIF project expenditures. That transfer passed on a roll-call vote with all five supervisors recorded as aye.
The board also authorized the chair to sign the FY26 budget amendment. Proceedings concluded with routine approval of claims and the board adjourning at 10:14 a.m.
The budget amendment was published as required on May 6 and 7 and will be implemented per the adopted resolutions.
