Huron City Council approved Resolution 48-2026 authorizing the city manager to accept a quote and enter into an agreement with DL Smith Concrete LLC for demolition and installation of a driveway at 429 Williams Street in the amount of $29,795.
City staff explained the driveway had originally been part of the US-6 project but was removed from that project because work outside the right-of-way became complicated. The plan creates a new driveway on Williams Street (the property’s addressed street), removes the existing slab at the back of the house, and pours a reinforced driveway. Mr. Hamilton said the property owner has cooperated and that work would likely begin that week if the council approved the contract.
Councilors asked about driveway dimensions and whether tree removal was included in the contract price; Mr. Hamilton confirmed tree removal had already been completed as part of the main project and was not included in this contract. The council voted to adopt the resolution and authorized the city manager to execute the agreement.
