Tazewell County CPMT appoints FAPT parent representative and unanimously approves financial reports and funding

The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT) unanimously appointed Erik Robinson as the FAPT Parent Representative and approved several routine financial items at a meeting on April 27, 2026.
CPMT Chair Robbie Davis called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. After members confirmed attendance, the panel unanimously approved the March 23, 2026 meeting minutes, the March Fiscal Year 2026 Financial Report and the Safe & Stable Funds report for March 31, 2026 on motions moved and seconded by members in attendance.
The CPMT reviewed a packet on Erik Robinson that included the FAPT and CPMT Parent Representative job description and a brief background summary. David Taylor moved to approve Robinson as the FAPT Parent Representative; Robin Jackson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The CPMT went into closed session to discuss cases involving foster care, child protective services (CPS), Cumberland-related matters, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools and related funding. The group returned to open session and certified the closed meeting under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, citing Code of Virginia §§2.2-3711 and 2.2-3712; the certification vote was recorded as AYES 8, NAYS 0, ABSENT 2.
Following the closed session, the CPMT approved funding to provide services for the discussed foster care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools cases on a motion by Shanna Plaster and seconded by Roberta Boyd; the motion carried unanimously. The CPMT also approved funding for Foster Care Maintenance Services not FAPT reviewed on a motion by Lori Gates-Addison and seconded by Robin Jackson; that motion likewise carried unanimously.
Members reviewed the Office of Children's Services May 2026 training calendar and heard a brief community announcement from Chair Davis about a recent domestic violence meeting attended by Clinch Valley representatives.
The CPMT scheduled its next meeting for Monday, May 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and adjourned at 10:47 a.m.
