After the ceremonial opening and memorial, Columbus City Council moved through a heavy committee docket and approved the consent agenda and multiple committee items that spanned procurement, capital projects, community programs and public utilities.
In Finance & Governance, council approved Ordinance 1468‑2026 authorizing a one‑year contract with UNA Solutions Inc. (formerly Bonfire) to provide the city’s procurement strategic sourcing platform (authorized amount cited circa $182,318). The council postponed companion Community Development Block Grant legislation related to Habitat for Humanity (Ordinance 1572‑2026) to the June 22 meeting.
Economic development actions included a contract with Priscilla Tyson Consulting LLC to assist completion and opening of the Point Dexter Village Museum and Cultural Center (Ordinance 1361‑2026) and authorization to modify other development agreements in light of commercial market changes.
Public Service and Transportation advanced Ordinance 1418‑2026 to construct approximately 43 ADA curb ramps in neighborhoods identified from 311 requests (areas named include northwest Columbus, Italian Village, downtown and Near East Side) with an expenditure authorization drawn from street construction and bond funds.
Parks and community items passed included a partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to implement an Exercise is Medicine program in community centers and a $25,000 advanced payment agreement to Step in the Right Direction to support its hygiene program; the latter was described as supporting more than 13,000 households in 2025 via partnerships and in‑kind donations.
Public Utilities approved multiple water and sewer items, including a Wajala Ravine stream restoration project (Ordinance 1386‑2026), contingent on state loan approvals, and modifications to construction management contracts for infrastructure projects. The council also approved contract extensions for janitorial services and workforce training support programs.
Clerk roll calls and committee chairs’ reports were recorded for each item in the official minutes; those ordinances were passed without extended chamber debate and will proceed to permitting, contracting, or administrative execution as indicated by the sponsoring departments.
