The Loveland City Council voted to authorize staff to apply for an Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks grant to renovate the Phillips Park restroom and to commit the required 25% local match.
City Manager Dave Kennedy explained that the NatureWorks program has funded comparable park projects and that Philips Park's restroom is the last major restroom in need of renovation. "This is just allowing for the submission and committing of the required 25% local match," Kennedy said.
Council adopted Resolution 47 by roll call vote, 7–0. Staff said the project would serve a large number of participants because Phillips Park hosts hundreds of sporting events each year and that the city would seek a resolution of support from partner jurisdictions as part of the application process.
The council discussion did not amend the project scope; the vote authorized applying for the grant and committing the local match if the award is received.
