"The public would be invited to the cove on July 3," staff said when describing the fireworks event, and added that final timing and vendor details are still being worked out.
The parks team said they will coordinate volunteers for crafts and activities and asked commissioners for help recruiting and spreading word of the events. Staff also flagged possible scheduling conflicts and logistics with other community groups that run Fourth-of-July-day activities and noted the council has approved some budget for fireworks.
Next steps: staff will continue planning, confirm vendor details for the fireworks and return with logistical information and volunteer requests in advance of the holiday week.
