District administrators reviewed updated objectives for the 2026–27 long-range plan and highlighted progress across four pillars: continuous instructional improvement, social-emotional learning pilots, staff-development and recruitment, and finance/resource systems.
On instruction, staff said the universal K–5 ELA curriculum is in its first full year of implementation and that teams will refine pacing guides and use learning walks and walkthrough tools to focus instruction. For social-emotional learning, K–5 counselors recommended Second Step as a universal curriculum while 6–8 counselors favored Character Strong.
Administrators reported technology and security work including a new data center, multifactor authentication for Google accounts, and an ongoing rollout of bus camera replacements with cellular integration to speed data retrieval. Staff also described a recent website refresh intended to centralize parent communications and noted difficulty meeting ADA website accessibility standards; the presenters said accessibility deadlines were pushed back and that converting PDFs and content to compliant formats remained time-consuming.
The board also discussed a two-year capacity and consolidation analysis to review spaces and enrollment projections and noted public-education outreach goals to explain school finance to the community. Board members thanked staff for community outreach and for coordinating an open house related to an urban middle-school rebuild.
