The Sheboygan Area School District board approved a ratified collective bargaining agreement and a separate staff-salary proposal at the meeting.
Administrators told the board the negotiated contract includes a base-wage increase of about 2.6% for the Education Association bargaining unit; the board moved to approve the administration's recommendation and the motion carried.
Staff framed the 2026–27 staff salary proposal as an effort to do better than broad inflation measures and said reaching a 3% increase was “no small feat” given state funding shortfalls. The board voted to approve a 3% staff salary increase for 2026–27 and the motion carried.
The presenter thanked negotiating team members Jamie, Rachel, Mark and Eric for their work on the agreement. The presenter also referenced Act 10 in describing constraints on what districts can define as base wage for bargaining purposes.
