Commission approves outreach to Rocky Road Studios to advance Mar Vista mural

Commissioner Lisa Bridal moved to authorize staff to reach out to Rocky Road Studios to continue the mural process; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Paul De Barros and commissioners approved the outreach by voice vote.
Amy Lloyd said staff will share the selected artist's concept work with the arts and parks commissions and that a final sketch review would likely occur before the project advances. Commissioners discussed coordinating next steps and noted they may reconvene a smaller group to look at final concepts.
No contract, budget amount or final design was approved at the meeting; the action authorized staff to pursue the artist-selection next steps and further coordination with the Parks Commission.
