Board approves routine items including student handbook, textbook and several policy revisions

The Mukilteo School District Board approved several routine items during its meeting.

Key votes and motions: The consent agenda (including the personnel addendum) was moved and passed unanimously. The board approved the 2026–27 Students' Rights and Responsibilities handbook as presented. The board adopted a veterinary assisting textbook and approved a revision to board policy 24‑12 (diplomas for veterans); each motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Commissioning resolution: The board heard and accepted a resolution to accept building commissioning support and a consultant commissioning report related to the Meriden High School addition and renovation as part of the School Construction Assistance Program; district staff explained the commissioning process for mechanical systems and noted its role in handing systems over to maintenance for life‑cycle operations.

What this means: Approvals were routine and largely unanimous; the substantive policy question on discrimination and harassment will return for further drafting and discussion.
