Findlay Township Planning Commission elects Ernie Leopold chairman, approves 2026 schedule

Chair Ernie Leopold was unanimously elected chairman of the Findlay Township Planning Commission for 2026 during a re-organization meeting held Jan. 27 in the Westbury Conference Room at the Findlay Township Municipal Building.
John Thomas, a commission member, moved to nominate Ernie Leopold for chairman; Rade Opacic seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. The commission also unanimously approved nominations for other officer posts: John Thomas moved to nominate Dan Moskal as vice-chairman (Moskal was listed as absent), and moved to nominate Ken Faux for secretary/treasurer; both motions were seconded by Rade Opacic and carried on unanimous voice votes.
The commission set its regular 2026 meeting schedule to the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. John Thomas moved the schedule approval, Rade Opacic seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The body also designated the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Tribune Review as the official newspapers for commission notifications for 2026; that motion was made by Rade Opacic, seconded by John Thomas, and approved unanimously.
Attendance at the meeting was recorded as Ernie Leopold, Tim Cook, Ken Faux, John Thomas and Rade Opacic present; Dan Moskal and John Yarowenko were listed as absent. The re-organization meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Ernie Leopold and adjourned at 7:05 p.m. after a motion to adjourn by Ken Faux, seconded by Tim Cook.
