Lisonbee Parsley, PACE dance teacher and department chair and co-director of the high school musical, invited the board and community to opening night of Anything Goes next Thursday (performances Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m.) and introduced a staged performance of the number "Friendship" featuring Ashley Kossiver and Eli Rivera with accompaniment from music teacher Bill Derby.
Student council representatives Robbie Grimes and Alex Robinson updated the board on recent and planned student activities: they described the Tiger Fives basketball competition (planned and run by the sophomore student council), noted that no girls teams participated this year and said the next event will require coed teams to increase inclusiveness. The students also previewed senior activities including a pancake/cider fundraiser for seniors completing college applications, a senior square dance (Feb. 12), a senior musical (High School Musical 2 on March 9) and an upcoming winter pep rally on Jan. 30. The student council also described planned Super Bowl and Valentine's Day events (dip contest, football trivia, jersey day and Cupid's compatibility challenge).
Why it matters: Student-led events and performing-arts programming are central to school life and community engagement; the updates note inclusivity changes to future student events and fundraising activities that support senior class initiatives.
